Captain: Levent Uysal
Captain Levent brings over a decade of valuable yachting experience to Gitane, combining confident leadership with strong technical knowledge and a genuine passion for life at sea. Having captained yachts such as the 45m Prenses Melda and the 38m Love Boat, he offers guests a calm, capable presence and a wealth of cruising expertise throughout the Eastern Mediterranean. His background as both an engineer and an able seaman has given him a well-rounded operational understanding, while his familiarity with the Turkish coastline, Cyclades, Dodecanese, Adriatic, and Tyrrhenian Sea ensures every itinerary is handled with confidence, safety, and local insight.
Chief Engineer: Salih Yegin
Salih is a highly experienced engineer with nearly two decades of maritime experience and a deep understanding of yacht systems and operations. His long-standing role aboard the 40m S/Y VAY speaks to both his technical ability and reliability, while his earlier experience as a deckhand and sailor has given him a practical, hands-on approach to every aspect of yacht maintenance and performance. Since joining Gitane, he has become an essential part of the crew, working quietly and efficiently behind the scenes to ensure everything runs seamlessly, safely, and to the highest standard throughout the season.
Chef: Yusuf Bingol
Yusuf is a young and creative culinary talent who brings fresh energy and modern flair to the galley. With experience in respected Istanbul kitchens, including DÜN MODA, Il Cortile Ristorante, and Say Cheese Pasta, he has developed a refined yet approachable style centered on flavor, presentation, and quality ingredients. His menus are inspired by contemporary Mediterranean cuisine and can be effortlessly tailored to guest preferences, whether preparing light, vibrant lunches or beautifully presented evening meals. His passion, adaptability, and eye for detail make him a wonderful addition to the onboard experience.
Deckhand: Burak Demir
Burak is a hardworking and enthusiastic deckhand who brings strong practical experience and a positive attitude to the exterior team. Having worked aboard yachts such as Kaya Guneri Plus, Kaptan Şevket, Kaptan Yılmaz, and Cevri Hasan V, he has developed a solid foundation in deck operations, maintenance, seamanship, and guest assistance. Energetic, dependable, and eager to contribute, Burak takes pride in keeping the yacht presented to a high standard while supporting both the crew and guests with professionalism and care.
Stewardess: Fatma Erol
Fatma is an experienced and dedicated stewardess with many years of service aboard both sailing and motor yachts. Since joining Gitane in 2024, she has brought a calm, organized, and highly dependable presence to the interior team. Her previous experience on yachts such as Virtuoso, Tatiana, White Soul, Sea Angel, and Papa Joe has given her a strong understanding of guest service, housekeeping, and the discreet attentiveness expected on board. Professional, capable, and naturally service-oriented, Fatma plays an important role in ensuring every detail of the guest experience is delivered smoothly and with care.
Stewardess: Elif Ece
Elif brings a warm, polished, and energetic approach to onboard hospitality, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests step on board. With previous yachting experience on vessels including the 64m Cleopatra, Tigre, Papa Joe, and Olde Salt, she is familiar with the rhythm and high standards of life at sea. Her Turkish-British background adds an international touch to her service style, while her natural friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail ensure guests feel relaxed, well looked after, and completely at home throughout their time on board.
