Meet Captain Gabriel, affectionately known as Riel! Growing up along the breathtaking south coast of South Africa, Riel’s passion for the ocean ignited early on. From diving and spearfishing in his youth to competing as a professional surfer, he’s always been captivated by the thrill of the sea.

With over seven years of experience in the yachting industry, Riel is now living the dream as the captain of a stunning 48-foot sailing catamaran cruising the idyllic Exuma Islands. But what sets Riel apart is his unique ability to create unforgettable experiences. He expertly blends high standards with a laid-back, fun-loving vibe, ensuring every guest feels right at home. Riel knows these waters like the back of his hand, leading guests to hidden coves and secret reefs where the diving is simply spectacular!

When he’s not navigating the beautiful waters, you’ll find Riel hosting epic beach BBQs (or "braais," as he affectionately calls them) for guests or organizing friendly beach volleyball games that spark a little competitive spirit.

In April 2022, Riel met his adventurous partner, Paige, and the two instantly clicked! Together, they embrace every opportunity for excitement—whether it’s climbing, enjoying a sunset surf, or sailing—making every journey not just enjoyable but truly unforgettable. Chef: Paige Whitney

Introducing Chef Paige, a culinary wizard with an undeniable passion for the ocean! Growing up just outside New York City, Paige spent her summers sailing along the rugged coastlines of Maine aboard her family’s sailboat, where she first discovered her love for the sea and sailing.

Recently, Paige made the exciting decision to leave her career as an elementary school teacher behind to pursue her dream as a yacht chef aboard Dolce Vita. With a flair for the kitchen and a knack for creativity, she crafts dishes that celebrate fresh, local ingredients, bringing the essence of every destination to life on your plate!

But Paige is more than just a chef—she’s an adventurous traveler at heart! Her curiosity for exploring new cultures fuels her passion for discovery, and she thrives on meeting new people along the way. Outside of the kitchen, she leads an active lifestyle, immersing herself in the great outdoors. Whether she's surfing, snorkeling, hiking, waterskiing, or rock climbing, Paige embraces every opportunity for adventure.

Wellness Stew: Kendal Cole

Kendal Cole is a dedicated and versatile yacht stewardess and certified massage therapist with a passion for wellness and guest care. Originally from South Africa and fluent in both English and Afrikaans, she brings a vibrant, proactive energy to every crew she joins. With extensive experience aboard both motor and sailing yachts—including the 79ft S/Y Turquoise Dreams 2 and the 42m M/Y Stay Salty—Kendal has developed a reputation for balancing meticulous interior service with a warm, wellness-oriented approach. Her work has taken her across the globe, most recently as part of a circumnavigation circuit in Fiji, where she served as sole stew, Pilates instructor, and onboard masseuse, offering guests a truly holistic charter experience.

Trained in natural and holistic therapies, with ongoing education in Pilates instruction and a strong background in spa treatments, Kendal is known for her ability to elevate the onboard atmosphere with professionalism, warmth, and a focus on health and relaxation. From managing full interior operations and leading wellness programs to stepping up as acting chief stew when needed, she thrives in dynamic, team-oriented environments. Her goal is to continue growing within a busy, like-minded crew where she can combine her hospitality expertise with her passion for wellness at sea.
