Captain: Marc Van Loon
Captain Marc has more than 25 years of experience. He was working on various vessels and sailing in South America, Caribbean, East Coast USA, West Coast Africa and Europe.
Honest, organized and friendly, Marc has a strong sense of responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of his ship, crew and guests onboard.
Chef-Stew: Tyla Vorster
Tyla Vorster is a highly experienced employee in the yachting industry, having developed skills in all aspects of the interior department, including training and encouraging other stewardesses to excel. She has the ability to provide excellent service while maintaining a problem-solving and positive atmosphere. With a keen eye for detail and self-motivation to exceed targets and goals, she takes pride in her work and truly enjoys what she does. Tyla has a background in hospitality, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication and Marketing. Choosing to pursue a career in the yachting industry, her goal is to continue learning and growing in her profession, working alongside multinational crews that are equally committed to offering tailor-made, memorable experiences to each guest.
Chief Engineer: Evgeniy
Evgeniy, born in Germany and raised in Odessa, fulfilled his dream of becoming an engineer after graduating from Odesa National Maritime University. With a passion for yachts, he has been working in the industry for 14 years, spending the last 3 years on board NELA.
When he’s not at sea, Evgeniy cherishes moments with his wife and kids.
First Officer: Pavel Tsyganenko
Pavel Tsyganenko possesses remarkable organizational skills, boundless energy, and a strong sense of responsibility. He thrives in collaborative work settings, cherishing interactions with colleagues and charter guests. For the past two years, Pavel has been working on board NELA, where he is known for fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere. Beyond his maritime pursuits, Pavel finds joy in working in a friendly environment, exploring new destinations, and communicating with people.
Bosun: Johnathan Du Toit
Jonathan is a highly organized individual known for his trustworthiness, excellent communication skills, and hard work. Having grown up on the coast, Jonathan has extensive experience with the sea, including life rescue, free diving, deep-sea fishing, water sports, and other water-based activities.
Deckhand: Andrew
Andrew Arnott is a determined and professional deckhand from a small coastal town
in South Africa. Up until now, his life has been filled with boating, fishing, and water
sports. With his strong work ethic and commitment, he has proved to be a hard worker
and has gained a reputation as an excellent deckhand. Over the last four years, he
has been preparing himself by learning everything from building boats to stripping
outboard motors and reassembling them. Andrew has now completed his first year
working on a charter yacht and is ready to continue working his way up toward becoming
a Captain. He is very eager to learn upon joining a boat and has always respected
his leaders. He has shown himself to be a very enthusiastic, helpful, and active worker.
2nd Stewardess: Nikita
Nikita Cartwright is an energetic and reliable stewardess who entered the yachting industry with full confidence and eagerness to prove herself. She is always ready to share the skills that make her stand out as a stewardess in all areas of the interior, aiming to progressively build her knowledge and grow in her role, stepping up as a strong leader when required. Nikita has been working within the yachting industry for over a year and is excited to continue evolving in her role as a second stewardess on board NELA. Both onshore and offshore, her dedication to her endeavors has enabled her to achieve high standards of service and enhance her ability to adapt to ensure maximum satisfaction for all customers, regardless of the task. Nikita stands out for her energy and activity, demonstrating the drive and passion she possesses.
Chef: Ernesto
With over 10 years of experience working on both private and charter yachts, and over 5 years of working in some of the most esteemed Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK, Ernesto brings a unique and mature style of cooking with an abundance of creativity and flair. He is able to adapt to a wide range of requirements and create an unforgettable culinary experience for charter guests.
Layout
NELA is a 42m (138’) tri-deck motor yacht for charter, built in 2014 by Benetti, and refited in 2021. NELA is registered under Malta Charter Code and MCA compliant. She features timeless, contemporary and stylish interiors by Francois Zuretti, her notable design features include a backlit marble waterfall in the main foyer and an upper saloon fireplace with Fendi touch.
Large main saloon incorporates a leisure area with comfortable, seating, a bar and entertainment centre, and leads forward into a formal dining room. Well appointed second salon on the upper deck features another dining area, full-sized bar, sofas, and it opens up to the vast outdoor lounging area.
Luxury and comfortable accommodation is provided for 10 guests in 5 en-suite staterooms consisting of a master suite on the main deck, 2 VIP doubles and twin cabin belowdecks. This motor yacht also carries quarters for 9 crew members for superior service on-board.
NELA is powered by twin 1450 Hp Caterpillar engines, providing a maximum speed of 15 knots, a cruising speed of 11 knots and an unbelievable range of 4,000 nautical miles at cruise speed. This luxury yacht for charter is also fitted with underway and at-anchor “zero-speed” stabilizers that increase on-board comfort when the yacht is stationary. Her intelligent design sets the tender garage amidships with a side door for launching, freeing up space astern for a sizeable beach club.
