Operating in the Caribbean
Captain Ryan is from a little fishing town called Shady Side, nestled along Maryland's western shore. Growing up on the Chesapeake Bay, he was naturally drawn to the water. Ryan learned to sail when he was eleven years old. When he was sixteen, he became a certified US Sailing Instructor and ran his local junior sailing program. Ryan's coastal urge led him to the warmer waters of Wilmington, North Carolina where he attended Cape Fear's Marine Technology School and acquired his 100 ton Master Captain's License. During the summer, you would find Ryan teaching surf lessons at Wrightsville Beach and sailing with his friends as often as he could.
Ryan and Jill met through mutual friends and their first date was a road trip. Their similar passions for surfing, traveling, sailing, and good music made it natural for these two fish to fall for one another. What they didn't know was that from here on out- the world would become their oyster. 'Will work for travel' was their motto! Throughout their travels Ryan and Jill were introduced to many new recipes and cooking styles from which they continue to share with friends and family. Each would take turns replicating their favorite dishes like: fresh catch fish tacos, thai chicken lettuce wraps, island ceviche, tostones with mango-habanero guacamole, grilled street corn with chipotle mayo, honey barbecue chicken pizza, pretty much anything that they craved on a weekly basis. Jill brings her love for tasty international flavors directly to the White House galley, but is also well-versed in American classics and special diets like gluten free, vegan and paleo.
By 2016, Ryan and Jill bought their very first home, a 1985 Niagara 35' sailboat named Nalu and moved back to the Chesapeake Bay. Vacation time no longer consisted of long plane rides, but long sails. Jill became a yoga and SUP instructor and Ryan spent his time developing his maritime skills: chartering boats, rigging, surveying, and gaining lots of valuable sea time as a boat delivery captain.
Ryan and Jill are an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced crew ready to treat guests to fun, memorable holidays. They have transformed their love for having fun above and below the water into a great vacation package for active groups, families and those wanting to get the most out of their trip!

4/29/2018 Jill you should create a recipe book- think I am going to need it!
"Ryan and Jill- Thank you sooooo much for all the lovely things you did for me. You split my food up if I didn't like it and helped me get through the strong tide when I was struggling. I will miss you guys so much and hope you get to visit us back home. Thanks Ryan for teaching me how to fish and sail. I don't want to leave, but at some point I have to leave. If I had one power, it would be to slow down time and I would be able to spend more time with you guys. It's a bit like leaving your mum-because you don't want to leave her, but at some point, you have to. Thanks a trillion!"-Luke Carr, Age 10"Dearest Jill and Ryan, This has been such a life changing experience for our family and we very much needed. We now have a new purpose to save towards and one we hope to share again with you both. I have to say you both surpassed all our wishes. You have both been the making of this holiday. From the moment we all woke to the moment we slept- you made the most of every bit of it: the service, the knowledge, the food, friendships, and laughs. The kids have enjoyed your company so much too. Thank you for being so kind and patient with them. They are both so much more confident in the water now too! The food has been simply outstanding! Jill you should create a recipe book- think I am going to need it! We leave with huge, happy relaxed, content, and fulfilled hearts and smiles. Thank you so very much and hope to see you again soon. Much love."- Rachel, Steve, Chloe, and Luke xxx

"Dear Jill and Ryan- My tan is fading, but fortunately the memories of our great time aboard the White House haven't. You guys are the perfect hosts--providing great recommendations for what to see and do in the BVI. Every little detail--from the towel animals, to the fresh herbs and recipes from Jill's handwritten cookbook, expert cocktail making skills, awesome snorkeling guides, captain and first mate-chef extraordinaire!! Thanks for nursing one of our seasick friends, my tubing adventure, and the yummy meals, happy hour snacks and desserts. Your attention to detail was appreciated and the little goodies you brought for all the locals so they are sure to take care of your guests as well as you do, says a lot about who you are. Thank you from the Madtown Mermaids! Hope Mary Margaret (their inflatable flamingo) is hanging in there and providing floating fun to all the White House guests after us!"- Kathy Randall- Madison, WI

1/16/2018 You guys are by far my favorite crew yet.
Ryan & Jill,You guys are by far my favorite crew yet. I apologize for our loudness, waking you up and banging against your room. Thanks for taking us to cool places and being cool. I really enjoyed tubing and doing yoga. I'm really happy this is my boat now, but I wish Ryan would've dropped a few bars. I love you guys.Captain Maggie
1/15/2018 I've been on so many sailing vacations and this one is by far the very best!
I've been on so many sailing vacations and this one is by far the very best! This is the first boat I've been on that had enough sunscreen, shampoo and wet water to handle four teenage girls. We loved Conch Island, The Wonky Dog, paddle board yoga, scuba, scooters on Anegada. The list goes on and on. So Sad to leave. Thanks Jill and Ryan for a great vacation.
11/29/2018 Each day was greeted by your smiles and has been filled with beautiful spots
Ryan & Jill,As Mark said, this has been an adventure! There has been years conquered on this trip! I now officially "do water"! You've taught me so much about sailing, until this week I didn't know dinghy had an "h" in it!Each day was greeted by your smiles and has been filled with beautiful spots, despite the devastation of the islands. I loved The Baths and the Indians; Diamond Reef was beautiful, but I may have enjoyed Monkey Point the best. Thanks for teaching to paddle board, I loved it!Our time with you has been very special. Know that you are loved and prayed for.Pamela
11/28/2017 This has been one of those "once in a lifetime" true adventures
Ryan & Jill,This has been one of those "once in a lifetime" true adventures. You two have made it extra special. Ryan, you are what every captain should be. Capable, hospitable, knowledgable, great chef, open and honest. Jill, first mate, chef, yoga instructor, prize master, etc. What an absolutely wonderful time we've had with both of you! This trip has been so much more than a vacation, it's been an experience. I feel like I'm closer to these islands and the people that really live here. I hope that you two have an extreme life together. You are well matched. Pamela and I are in your debt. If you are ever in Tulsa, please stay with us. We have extra beds. May god bless you both.Mark
